Coffee day 1 {my personal photo project}

I'm very excited to start this personal project!!!

In the past I've tried the 365 challenge, and other monthly challenges, but honestly had a hard time remembering to do a photo everyday. I know this one will work, as I drink coffee daily and it will now act as my daily reminder. I am even more pumped about documenting memories spent having coffee with friends. (I 'll probably talk more about that as I go on, but for now I just want to post what I have done so far!!

Contagious Smile {Fall Family Photos}

WOW! Seeing this smile in person again brought back so many warm and fuzzy memories! I have known the Mama of this beautiful family for a long time, and seeing her again felt like time has stood still. Her contagious smile, extremely friendly, easy going, bubbly, happy go lucky character made me feel like I was back in middle school. It was SO good to see her again, and even better to see that gorgeous smile on the faces of her beautiful kids.

So all though this is the last sneak peek of my 5 fall family photos for friends, it is definitely not the least! I love the colours they chose, and love how easily everyone sat and posed, especially their daughter; a total natural for the camera! I sure hope to see these smiles behind my lens again!

A Ray of Sunshine {Fall Family Photos}

That post title is both figurative and literal...

I have to admit, these little munchkins gave me a run for my money. However, I wouldn't have had it any other way. My heart was filled with warmth as I watched them through my lens as they explored a new environment, played with "pumpkins", and threw leaves with mom and dad. So although getting  these little peoples' attention proved a challenge, the moments they shared; the whole process was beautiful to watch, and the end result - perfect.

The Mama {also a friend of the same friend as the first "friend of a friend" post! ;)} and I have been talking about getting together for photos for awhile. She had a very special reason for wanting some family photos, and I really wanted to record those memories for her. So I feel very thankful that this family made the extra effort to come in from out of town to see me on this day, and even more thankful that I was able to capture this beautiful moment of their entire family.

Flash from the Past... {Fall Family Photos}

This next post is a special one... this family goes further back then even my last post. Her family was like our extended family... actually I used to think she was my cousin, because I grew up calling her mom "Aunty". My mom was (and still is) friends with her mom, and I think her grandma was friends with my grandma.... it's no wonder they were like family!

Not only is this post special because she's like family, but I also owe "my cousin" a whole lot of hugs and thanks. 18 days ago I posted this status on my personal FB page "Itching to do some fall portraits..."  a few moments later she sort of suggested I could do photos for her family... and well that began my spontaneous "Fall Family Mini Photo Shoot sessions", and OH BOY am I glad it did!! After her request, a few others FB friends followed suit... so I thought "What the heck"... I went out and bought some hay bales, and gourds (for the kids), went on a few 2-3 hour hunts for the perfect location, and BAM!! there we had it, 5 AMAZING families, a few hours of clicking, and one of THE most wonderful days I have had in a quite awhile.

So, "cuz", you may not have known this, but you will now- You kicked me in the pants when I didn't even know I needed kicking... (MUST be a cousin!!). I learned a lot about myself through the past couple of weeks (and that day photographing), and more importantly confirmed what I already knew~ I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE photographing families, and (with out tooting my own horn) finally feel, that I am {sort of} getting really good at it!! <3

So a BIG shout out to the wonderful families I photographed that day, and a great big thanks to everyone that I have photographed in the past, and to all who have encouraged, supported, and believed I could, even when I didn't think I could... FINALLY I feel I am on my way and can truly see a clear direction!

But back to my long lost cousin (she was never really lost), here she is with her beautiful family. One of the things that really stood out with this family for me, is how relaxed and laid back they are as parents. None of that "oh no don't get dirty" or "don't put that in your mouth" or "oh no he fell down while running, what should we do" sort of stuff... they were both just so calm, cool and collected... Actually I think I even  felt more relaxed after hanging out with them!! It was a pleasure seeing you again, and meeting your beautiful family, and hope to see more of you all!!

Walking Down Memory Lane... {Fall Family Photos}

This is the family I have to thank for the location where I did fall family photos this year! (LOVE that place, THANKS!!) I just can't decide which is more gorgeous, the location or this family.

I have known the Mama of this family for a number of years, specifically from high school.... If she looks familiar to you as well, perhaps you have seen her (and her family) HERE on my blog before. I did fall family photos for her and her beautiful family a couple years back on the same path (sort of like walking down memory lane with her! ;) ) It really is SUCH a gorgeous path and park. You can see those family photos HERE. I can't believe how much their little girl has grown! Somehow she got even cuter! I was so happy to do photos for them again, especially because they are expecting another baby!!! (Which means I could sneak in a few beautiful baby bump photos too)!

Thanks so much for inviting me out to do your family photos again, and for the tip on my now new favourite photo location!! Hope to see more of you and your family! All the best with the new addition.

BTW I just couldn't resist showing this preview in B&W! These dark hair beauties just rock a high contrast black and white!

Friend of a Friend {Fall Family Photos}

Meet my "friend of a friend". This family recently moved into the neighbourhood. I first met the Mama of this family through a friend, and well, any friend of hers is a friend of mine! I have recently learned that their little guy (the extremely cute blonde boy in the photos) will be in the same grade as my youngest. I now refer to him as my sons future best friend! ;)

This family was the first of the 5 families that I photographed a week and a half ago. I could not have planned it any better. They were all so easy going, and a joy to photograph. I was TOTALLY pumped when I learned that they brought a "second outfit". I LOVE that they made these photos "THEM"! I hope to continue to get to know this family, and watch their little ones grow up!
